I started out with self-striping and still have the very first pair of socks I knit (although the toes are wearing a bit thin!) I progressed to patterned socks in plain yarn and teddy bears in self-striping. I am toying with the idea of knitting a shawl with a bamboo type sock yarn in my stash. The book would help me immensely in broadening my horizons as to the possibilities out there for the humble sock yarn.
