I adore that we are all learning more about knitting lace together!!!!!Laura Nelkinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09120576950149666512noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1298152147095480091.post-38067547104230767112012-09-04T22:23:14.248-04:002012-09-04T22:23:14.248-04:00Thank you so much Laura for this! What a learning...Thank you so much Laura for this! What a learning curve for me! Lace knitting is so very different for me than regular stockinette stitch knitting which results in close together stitches. Duh! A light bulb has gone on and I realize with all the YO's that it grows a lot when blocked. So, that is why it needs to be a needle size down with lace weight. It never occured to me that blocking out a pattern would make a "BIG" difference in size and gauge! I understand this now!! Big hugs to you Craftsy teacher for helping me see this point! :DAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1298152147095480091.post-16926274997128952782012-09-03T21:35:03.670-04:002012-09-03T21:35:03.670-04:00Most patterns will tell you if your gauge should b...Most patterns will tell you if your gauge should be blocked or unblocked... if the pattern doesn't say then I assume it should be blocked as they are referring to the finished products gauge which is most likely blocked before being worn!Laura Nelkinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09120576950149666512noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1298152147095480091.post-71995332716120969062012-09-03T14:01:24.875-04:002012-09-03T14:01:24.875-04:00Are all swatches meant to be blocked to determine ...Are all swatches meant to be blocked to determine proper guage? So many knitters don't understand that each designer gives the gauge that they personally got with the given yarn and needle. Gauges can vary as much from designer to designer as they do for any pair of knitters.Kirstenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08025014995771360052noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1298152147095480091.post-6033557680538673092012-09-03T11:35:09.609-04:002012-09-03T11:35:09.609-04:00I have never washed and blocked my gauge swarchesv...I have never washed and blocked my gauge swarchesv-guess I will have to startLorihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05495412272037253679noreply@blogger.com
