Transport yourself to two of the most magical and storied cities in Europe for an unforgettable knitting adventure in Spain from November 9th -18th, 2025. This experience takes you from the passionate energy of Madrid to the charm of Barcelona, all while giving you a yummy sampling of the local culture.

Over 10 extraordinary days, this Spanish knitting adventure transports you between the vibrant energy of Madrid and the cosmopolitan charm of Barcelona. Highlights include celebrating Madrid's Feast of the Almudena festival, learning to make authentic paella, and exploring Madrid's museums and streets. After visiting the Wooldreamer’s Mill, castle, windmills, and winery in La Mancha, spend a night in the charming town of Zaragoza. Barcelona thrills with tours of Gaudi architecture, the Gothic quarter, the mountaintop Montserrat monastery, and two days of reveling in the Barcelona Knits Festival. Exclusive knitting classes, a flamenco show, and a sangria masterclass round out an unforgettable experience blending culture, creativity, and community.

Itinerary

Day 1: 9 November 2025 HOLA AND WELCOME TO MADRID!

Transfer to your capital city hotel and meet with your fellow knitters and your guide, CECILIA FERRARI! Enjoy a Welcome Brunch before setting out to celebrate the Feast of the Almudena! Join in with the locals and see processions, listen to live music, and taste local foods from the stalls and carts dotted around with foods created especially for the day. Visit Miss Kits, a fabulous Madrid yarn store, before a Welcome Drinks Reception and dinner at a nearby restaurant.

Day 2: 10 November 2025 MUSEUMS, KNITTING AND PAELLA!

The first half of the day is at your leisure for shopping and exploring Madrid. You may wish to visit the
Tapestry Museum (Real Fabrica de Tapice), the Costume Museum (Museo del Traje de Madrid), the
Royal Palace of Madrid or Reina Sofia National Art Centre or another one of Madrid’s many cultural
gems. In the afternoon, join Laura at the hotel for a knitting class to learn the secrets of your tour design. And then time to roll up your sleeves and learn to make Paella at The Cooking Clubhouse! The in-house professional Chef will guide you step by step through one of Spain’s most iconic recipes keeping our wine glasses full all the while! 


 

Day 3: 11 November 2025 WOOLDREAMERS AND DON QUIXOTE COUNTRY

Travel into the La Mancha region and experience WoolDreamers. This mill is focused on heritage, roots, craftsmanship, nature, and humanity, encompassed in excellence and authenticity. Enjoy a comprehensive guided tour that gives us complete insight into their yarn-making process and receive a little gift! Enjoy lunch before a tour and tasting of Mont Reaga winery. We’ll then visit Museo-Casa Dulcinea del Toboso before continuing onto Castillo De Belmonte, a medieval castle on the hill of San Cristobal. WHAT A DAY!


Day 4: 12 November 2025 MEDINACELI AND ZARAGOZA

Today we will say adios to Madrid and board our bus to head east and south. First, we'll stop in the charming town of Medinaceli to stretch our legs and admire the only preserved triple arch in Spain, (dating back to the 2nd and 3rd centuries). We'll have a lovely lunch and then continue on to Zaragoza. Zaragoza, the capital city of the province of Zaragoza is famous for its two majestic cathedrals, a fortified Islamic palace in the city centre, monumental remains of the Roman Caesar Augusta, and one of the most diverse gastronomic scenes in Spain. There will be free time in the afternoon to explore this beautiful city and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant or chill at our hotel.

Day 5: 13 November 2025 THE ROAD TO BARCELONA!

Today we gently meander towards Barcelona. We will be stopping in one of the oldest towns in Catalonia region - Lleida, famous for its natural beauty, the Lleida Museum, and the Seu Vella de Lleida cathedral. We'll have a traditional leisurely group lunch at a local restaurant and then continue on to Barcelona where we will be based for the rest of the trip! Take the evening to relax and get to know the area around our excellent Hotel Seventy. This hotel was made for knitters... from the rooftop to the lounges, it is the perfect base to explore the city together!


Day 6: 14 November 2025 GAUDI, GOTHIC QUARTER and YARN!

After breakfast, we take a guided tour of the most recognizable of all of Barcelona’s architecture - La Sagrada Família. It's a giant Basilica that has been under construction since 1882 and it's not expected to be completed for some time yet. Afterwards, we will have an extraordinary walking tour through Barcelona's Gothic Quarter. In the afternoon, visit Lalanalu yarn shop to meet the hosts of Barcelona Knits and receive your event wristband. This evening, we go to Gaudi’s masterpiece, La Pedrera!  


Day 7: 15 November 2025 BARCELONA KNITS, AND FLAMENCO!

Join your coach after breakfast and travel the short distance to the BARCELONA KNITS FESTIVAL on the Barcelona waterfront, overlooking the Balearic Sea. You have the chance to book a class as a part of our package and of course any additional classes you are welcome to book and pay yourself. Enjoy the many activities going on throughout the day and make the most of all the stalls! This evening we visit El Tablao De Carmen, for flamenco and dinner!!! Olé!

 

Day 8: 16 November 2025 BARCELONA KNITS DAY 2 and Nuria Picos!

After a leisurely Sunday breakfast, you may join your shuttle for a return to the water’s edge and BARCELONA KNITS! More of the same wonderful learning, shopping, and socializing in the fun and lively festival! This afternoon return to your hotel for an exclusive embroidery class with Nuria Picos, who will share her phenomenal embroidery skills with us! We'll be working on a design inspired by Barcelona and Gaudi's architecture. 

Day 9: 17 November 2025 MONTSERRAT, SANGRIA MASTERCLASS

After breakfast, we take a scenic train and cable car to Montserrat - a beautiful Benedictine monk mountain retreat northwest of Barcelona city. In the Montserrat Monastery Museum, you can see works by important artists such as Dalí, El Greco, Monet, and Giordano. Not only is Montserrat
Monastery of significant religious importance but the natural beauty surrounding the monastery is
simply breathtaking. Many come just to see the statue of the Black Madonna, patron saint of
Catalonia. This evening join us for a Sangria Masterclass in our hotel and a farewell dinner.

Day 10: 18 November 2025 ADIOS!

Our Spanish adventure draws to a close as our chauffeur transfer takes you to the airport for your return home. As we transfer you to the airport, bid farewell to Spain, but remember you are bringing treasured memories, new skills, and great friends with you!

Pricing

Price per person/sharing €5384 (single supplement €1176)

A deposit of 20% of the total tour price is required to hold your booking.

The balance of the tour is due 60 days before arrival and can be made in installment payments on request. If you have friends or family who want to join you but do not knit, we offer a special non-knitter discount of €200!

We urge you to purchase cancellation insurance & supplemental medical coverage (which covers pre-existing conditions). This is a smart way to safeguard against life’s surprises.

This tour involves a fair amount of walking as we explore cities together... it isn't a great fit for those with mobility issues. E-mail me if you have questions about this!
