What I love about cowls-- wearing them, or knitting them? :) I love that they look cute and sophisticated at the same time, and that they don't fall off your neck the way scarves can (unless you're upside down on a roller-coaster.). :) Knitting them-- that the simplicity of form allows you to get interesting with stitch work without having to worry much about shaping. And what a generous giveaway! :) --Bookaholic13 on Rav
ReplyDeleteI love that they are relatively fast to make, and they won't blow away. But I really love how they class up a t-shirt and jeans.
ReplyDeleteWhat's not to love? They're a great way to learn a new technique (like intarsia or double knitting), having a cowl around my neck is usually all I need to keep me warm in the mostly mild TX winters, and since they're circular, my friends can't just take one off my neck and say 'This looks better on me. I want it.' like they've done with several of my scarves and hats. (I love them, so I usually let them get away with it.)
ReplyDeleteWhat do I love about cowls? You only have to make one, not a pair. They're a great canvas for playing with new stitches. And they're cozy!
ReplyDeleteCowls for me = love to wear and love to knit. They can be as basic or as advanced in technique as you like and can be made from practically any weight of yarn. We have cold winters here and they are a must in my outdoor and indoor wear. Using the right fibre they can also be a great accessory in the summer. Thanks for offering such a generous giveaway! cinnymom on Rav
ReplyDeleteCowls, quick, sized for any size, gauge isn't critical...wearable so many ways..and a grat way to learn new stitch patterns
ReplyDeleteTechmuse on Rac
What's not to love? they can be knit quickly in the round, adjust easily to fit colorwork or lace patterns and don't fall off your neck or have annoying tails that like to fall in your tea. Plus, they're a great intro to handknit neck wear for my non-knit wearing friends. :D
ReplyDeleteI love that cowls have so many names! Cowl, gaiter, snood...also they are fun to knit and I love a good bright winter accessory that's hard to lose! Thanks for this amazing giveaway opportunity! rav id: geo9
ReplyDeleteI love cowls because they are perfect for that one precious skein. I love cowls because they are easy to wear and look really classy - even over a t shirt and jeans. I love cowls because I don't have to worry about losing it. I love cowls because if they are long enough they can be wrapped snugly for warmth, doubled for a pop of colour, or worn long as a scarf.
ReplyDeleteI love cowls because they are amazing accessories. Uniami on Rav
ReplyDeleteFor a pop of color- use a cowl....they are the easiest way to add that little color and keep your neck warm...and they are totally easy(usually) to knit!
ReplyDeleteI made cowls for everyone I know this past holiday. They are portable projects, you can use up leftover yarns and you can adjust cowl patterns to fit almost any size. My smallest cowl was for a 9 month old and largest for my 6 ft husband! knitters-grace on Rav
ReplyDeleteI love cows! They are so cute with their long eyelashes, and without them, we wouldn't have cheese. Thanks for the lovely giveaway, although I'm not sure why you asked about cows...
ReplyDeleteLook again! She wants to know why we love owls. And who doesn't love owls? They're cute with their big eyes and beautiful with their tonal feathers.
DeleteTrue, very true. I love cows and owls.
DeleteI love cowls because they are versatile hug for my neck through the day. They don't fall off when you are bending over. They lend themselves to knitting in the round and are usually a fairly quick accessory project so can offer some degree of instant gratification knitting especially if knit with a larger yarn. - hirsheybolt on rav
ReplyDeleteI love that you can use up smaller amounts of yarn and try new stitches.
ReplyDeleteI love to knit, wear and gift cowls. An easy knit and one size fits all. You can splurge on special yarns since it's a small project.-Julibeth
ReplyDeleteI love the versatility of infinity cowls for adjusting to weather conditions and the range f project options a cowl provides. Rav ID: jentm
ReplyDeleteI love that there are lots of options on how to construct cowls. I look forward to having some fun designing my own. I'm Maddini on Ravelry.
ReplyDeleteCowls are definitely may favorite thing to knit, they are so versatile! You can make them thick with a really bulky yarn for those really cold winter days that we get her in Wisconsin. I, personally, like them much better than scarves. No ends to blow around or get in the way. You can make it any length. I have really short ones that fit like a turtle neck, but I also have some that are super long so that I can loop them around my neck at least a few times.
ReplyDeleteBut wait! Cowls aren't just for winter these days. You can make a gorgeous summer cowl. You can use a finer weight yarn, in a cooler fiber like cotton, bamboo, or linen. Then use that to make a lacey, open-work fabric and you'll have a gorgeous accessory that you can use for any occasion in the summer.
To me, cowls are an accessory that you can use any time of the year for practically any occasion.
So far, I love to knit and wear cowl... soon I hope to love designing cowls too! :) I have watched your class all the way through once and am swatching. Thanks for an inspiration! Have fun at TNNA! Rav: knitsingrepeat
ReplyDeleteI love cowls because they are quick to make and give a pop of color to any outfit!
ReplyDeleteWhat I love about cowls is they feel like a cozy hug around your neck! They are also great at keeping the cold out without being super bulky like a scarf. Plus, they knit up pretty fast. :)

ReplyDeleteI love that wearing them is like a hug around the neck. :)
ReplyDeleteJessie (liciniac on ravelry)
What do I love about cowls? Well for one, they are a project that never resides too long on my half-completed projects list! lol Ravelry: Tobias4lyph
ReplyDeleteI love how they're smaller projects and are great for working new techniques and ideas without the time or yarn commitment of something like a sweater. Thanks for the giveaway! (mikron on Ravelry)
ReplyDeleteI love that I don't have to worry about a cowl falling off like I do with scarf or shawlette, and I love that you can experiment with texture or color without being committed to a huge project.
ReplyDeleteCowls change the whole look of what someone is wearing — and keep the neck or shoulders warm at the same time!
ReplyDeleteI love cowls because....they are so quick to knit, they are so easy to wear, they make great gifts!!!
ReplyDeleteCowls are so warm and comfy and the perfect fall/spring accessory. They can be as easy or as challenging to knit as you want.

Happy May Day Laura, What I love about cowl's is that they are a nice change to scarfs, sometimes scarf become boring and a cowl fits that spot, they are great to wear with just about anything, except maybe a swimsuit :) arfghans@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteLove your designs, Laura! You helped inspire me to become a designer. Thank you. Happy May Day!
ReplyDeleteI love cowls. I love shawls. I love stuff you design. You rock! I hope I win.
ReplyDeleteCowls need beads!
ReplyDeleteWhat I love about cowls is that they are easily customized. You can use fancy stitch designs or color work patterns without having to worry about incorporating them into fitting you perfectly - it's a cowl! lol
ReplyDeleteOnce you have done a cowl from a pattern, you can try any stitch and work it into a cowl. Don't have to worry about fit and can make them to any size you want.
ReplyDelete1- good for new stitchs that I can enjoy .
ReplyDelete2- a very fast project
3-all my family members really enjoy it and everyone has his/her favorite now :)) even my son 4 years and my niece 8 years they are so passionate about the cowls I share with them.
4-great gift , stylish, doesnt cost time and yarn that much , its all about the good design that meets the wearer :)
5- Sometimes it really save me a lot to knit a good quality yarn into a cowl , wear something black and simple and put it on , in sudden occasions that I didn't plan for and i need to attend.
6-you can't miss it up, knitting a cowl starting by garter stitch endeng by the most complicated stitch design you choose ,
7-starting by a 100 gram expencive good quality and worth it yarn , you can have a master piece cowl that you can wear in style anywhere any how you like ,It gives the good and perfect touch .
8-matching cowls is AWSEOM to knit , i knit that most of the time to my cousine and my youngest sister they love to match and feel unique about what they wear , sometimes i use the same yarn same design, same yarn different design, same design different yarn , they are both into it ...
9-my mother doesn't know how to knit on the round so I tease her all the time by my cowls :) she is the one who taught me to knit :)

So many things to love about cowls. A quick knit with endless versatility. Rav amchart
ReplyDeleteCowls are a great way to use stash yarns, one-skeins and still get the most mileage out of it, just keep knitting and join when you run out of yarn!
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway!

Cowls don't have ends to get tangled. Quick warmth.
ReplyDeleteCowls are great for the times you need extra warmth without the full length and bulk of a long scarf. loniholt at hotmail dot com
ReplyDeleteI love that you can make a short cowl with a single skein of luxury yarn. It's a quick project that everyone can use and it's fun to experiment with different lace designs.
ReplyDeletewahoomerryf on Ravelry
Cowls provide the perfect way to try a new stitch pattern without having to knit a huge scarf or shawl. Besides one can have infinite cowls where that many shawls would become a storage problem. I love all the yarns chosen and I too could not get along without the scale in the workroom.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful giveaway! Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI love making cowls because of the opportunity for creativity. They are also comfortable and stay on! They come in a variety of shapes and sizes and can be made from any gauge yarn. Customizable for men or women, children or adults. The perfect gift, too!
SylviePB on Rav
Cowls are just the ticket for keeping out the chill winds of Midwestern winters that never seem to end. @OldDamLady
ReplyDeleteI love the long and lacey cowls that you can wear as an infinity scarf or doubled up as a true cowl. For our NY weather it's a must!
ReplyDeleteI love them because because they are instant gratification! So much fun.
ReplyDeleteI love cowls because 1) they're very wearable. Lots of different ways, with lots of different feels. 2) They don't fall off or constantly need rearranging. 3) they're such a blank slate! Practically any idea can be put into cowl form. Or so it seems, at least.
ReplyDeleteI love cowls because they make dressing for work so easy in the morning. I can throw on a nice pair of slacks and a tee and then the cowl transforms the outfit into something work appropriate. And because there is such variety in cowls, I can have a different ones for each day of the week and I can make them work year round. They make any outfit dressier which is why I absolutely love them!

DeleteI love cowls because they stay in place - no falling off likes scarfs. alcbrooks on Ravelry
ReplyDeleteOMG, this is so generous! What I love about cowls? Easy: I love everything! They are fast to knit, keep your neck warm and are stylish accessories. You don't see cowls in store. They don't use a lot of yarn, so you can splurge on something totally decadent. You can try the wildest designs or a new-to-you technique without a huge time commitment. They are quick to make, so you can knit them in any color, any style, to match your entire wardrobe. They're always a good present to make. And more :)
ReplyDeleteI love cowls because they stay put. Scarves and shawls often manage to slip off at the most inconvenient times, but the worst a cowl ever does is bunch up a little.
ReplyDeleteSheilaOKeefe on rav
What I love about cowls is that they are not scarves, usually fast knits and gauge isn't a big issue.
ReplyDeleteI like that a cowl can't fall off and get lost! My only caveat is that it has to be loose enough that I don't feel like I am being strangled! I'm heidispins on Ravelry.
ReplyDeleteI love wearing cowls, they're a refreshing change from a scarf!
ReplyDeleteheatheranne99 at gmail dot com
Cowls are the ultimate in versatility- both in terms of wearing and making. Plus, I love that there are no wrapping/draping issues, as with scarves. And they are COZY, one of my favorite characteristics of knitted garments. I'm wakefolk on Ravelry!
ReplyDeleteI love cowls because they are quick knits. You can spurge on one skein and make a lovely cowl out of that one skein. They can hug your neck or be very loose. There are so many options!!
ReplyDeleteI am Lildeb831 on Ravelry. Sorry.
DeleteI'd love to win this. This spring hasn't been the best of times and this would surely lift my spirits! It's truly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love cowls because they can dress up and finish your look, but they stay where you put them, you don't have to mess with them. I have wintery ones that keep my neck warm in the snow, and casual cotton ones you can wear on a hot summer day. i think they're the perfect accessory!
ReplyDeleteAloha,
ReplyDeleteI luv cowls as they are fun to knit and one can splurge and use luxurious yarns too!

ReplyDeleteCowls - the warmth around my neck, saving me from a sore throat. I love to wear them in winter.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow (cowl?), what a great giveaway! I seriously love cowls - I wore one almost every day this winter and well into the spring. I like the versatility of them - you can wrap them multiple times around your neck for warmth, leave hanging loose more like a scarf, pull over your shoulders like a scarf - they are basically the best accessory ever!

I love cowls because I don't have to worry about where my "ends" are... it's all one lovely loop. I also love wearing longer cowls doubled up, and in a pinch, they can be pulled up over my hair in colder / inclement weather. I also just love wearing them around the office to keep my neck warm. And as for knitting them... oh, so therapeutic and meditative!

What's not to love about a little circle of fabric that keeps the chill off your neck and somehow manages to dress up jeans and a t shirt. The more cowls the merrier. I'm paburk on ravelry.
ReplyDeleteI love the versatility of cowls, both in knitting and wearing. They are like a blank canvas - I am really enjoying the class, my head is bursting with ideas. Thank you C
ReplyDeleteI love cowls because they're a fast, easy way to knit something I can actually wear. It doesn't hurt that most of them can be knit in the round, which I prefer! My username is confitenda on Ravelry.
ReplyDeleteI resisted cowls at first, as our SF weather is pretty temperate for most of the year. However, it pays to keep something handy for our chilly breezes, and cowls don't flop around and blow away the way scarves do, so I'm learning to love them for that reason. KittenWhiplash on rav. Thanks for the super generous giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love scarves because they are always fun to knit and easy to wear! They are the perfect thing to throw on to jazz up a t-shirt and jeans (which is what I wear pretty much every day!) Thanks! Rav ID= KaityBeth
ReplyDeleteCowls are so versatile and also great stash busters. I like to make them for gifts. I am hehl on Ravelry.
ReplyDeleteI like that you can hang a cowl from a hook and won't return to find it on the floor because if fell off the hook. Cowls are also great to keep the back your neck warm when you have to sit where the air vents are blowing (I swear those things follow me around like Mona Lisa's eyes).
ReplyDeleteI'm Shikkitta on Ravelry.
I love the big ones that I can loop around my neck and head. They don't come undone and slide off like a scarf can. Living in Canada, that's important for about 6 months every year. Plus the knit is almost instant gratification, unlike most of my sweaters that seem to take forever. (denys on Ravelry)
ReplyDeleteI love cowls because they are a great way to dress up a simple t-shirt as well as provide the final touch to a great outfit.

I haven't knit a cowl in a while now... The gorgeous yarn and tools up there are gorgeous inspiration for casting one on soon. What a magnificent giveaway!

What a beautiful collection of yarns!
ReplyDeletecowls are fun to knit, quick and easy as you want them to be, and good for using up smaller amounts of yarn (usually). I like wearing them because I always need something around my neck when it's cold out. (dianac on ravelry)
What I love about all the cowls I have worked on is that they are all unique, all adaptable (length, width) and all have taught me new stitches or knitting techniques. And I LOVE giving them away to folks who admire them. Knitting obsessively allows me to be generous, and I love it!!
ReplyDeleteI have never knit a cowl! But now that I think about it, I love that they would be faster to knit up than scarves... which would make them great gifts! (peps on Ravelry)

Perfect timing to win a giveaway ;) I disagree with you on one thing, it IS hard to tell you what I love about cowls, because there is sooo much I love about them. I love long cowls because they are so versatile. I love twisted cowls, it’s so much fun watching people trying to un-twist them. I love short cowls with buttons, they are such a great accessory. Thank you for putting this class together, you are such a great teacher. And thank you for the cowlicious yarn giveaway :) woollysheep@icloud.com
ReplyDeleteI also purchased your Design Your Own Cowl, and as usual it is excellent. I love cowls as my neck is always cold. I made your Red Cowl from my stash, and I am pleased! Now to design my own and with your instructions, I know I will enjoy the process.

ReplyDeleteThe think I love about cowls is how they keep me super-warm and are small enough to carry around in my purse to whip out when needed. No scarf-carrying pre-planning required! Plus, they don't take up as much yarn as a scarf, so I feel more adventurous with pattern choosing, yarn buying and knitting!

Wow, what a fantastic give-away! Really, what's NOT to love about cowls. They are soooo easy to wear either long or wrapped, they give you that added warmth on cold days, or that splash of color when needed. Cowls are usually a quick knit/crochet with tons of variety in design. Really, they are the easiest accessory piece in the world! ReplyDeleteLaura, thank you and Craftsy so much for the wonderful discount--it made the difference for my budget and I've now signed up for your new cowl class. I love cowls because the winters in Texas are not terribly cold and a cowl might be enough to help keep warm--plus it is easy to toss on without fighting a flowing and/or falling tail of a scarf.
ReplyDeleteOf course, the extra bonus would be to be selected as the winner for the wonderful yarns -- but especially for the yarn scale. I don't have one and this would be wonderful!! Again, thank you, thank you! moonglow225 on Ravelry
I love cowls because they don't fall off my neck! They may move around a little but the generally stay in the place in which they are put. So when you bend over, they don't fall off (this is a huge thing in China with all the public toilets!). :)

I love your cowl designing class, and your magnify design. Cowls are beautiful and versatile when longer and are enjoyable to knit.
ReplyDeletebrhuth on Ravelry
What I love about knitting cowls is that they give you a small space that you can pack a lot into, be it a luxe yarn, or an amazing stitch pattern. Just enough time and space to try it out, but small enough to never be boring!
ReplyDeleteCowls are great for using a special skein of yarn that you might not have enough of to make a scarf. Cowls are also a quick knit.
ReplyDeleteCowls are great for so many reasons. They have many purposes:style and warmth the two most important for me. They are quick to knit, or can take longer if you go for a complicated stitch, but still quicker than a sweater. They are very portable, and for someone who does not knit socks, these are my on the road projects. I have so many already, but I'm always planning my next one.
ReplyDeleteBeing new to the knitting scene, I have knitted only one, but I really enjoyed it. I like the versatility of them and how something that seems so simple can change the style of what you are wearing so much.
ReplyDeleteCowls are little hugs that keep you warm in the winter, sassy in the spring, flirty in the summer, and snappy in the fall. They can add a punch of color when you need it or a bit of sophistication when you want to really rock the professional look. They are my favorite accessory and one can't have too many. They are great to give as gifts as they are quick to make and are warmly received. They can be simple or complex and fit all my moods. I usually have a couple on the needles at all times and a yarn stash to whip one up for last minute giving or to treat myself. In short, I love them because they make me feel happy wearing them and making them.
ReplyDeleteI love cowls because I can make them in the craziest colors and get away with wearing them anywhere. One does want a splash of color. Rav ID keeperofbear.
ReplyDeleteCowls are the perfect knit and accessory. Knit because there are so many ways you can experiment with pattern designs, techniques and colors. To wear they are the ideal accessory as they can be worn in any climate. You can throw one on over a tshirt and look Chic, or for utilitarian to ward off the colder temps and protect yourself from the elements.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful giveaway, thank you!

ReplyDeleteI love cowls because they can be designed for slouch and relaxing or light and elegant! My Rav ID is PibblesnKnits
ReplyDeleteOne thing that I like about cowls is that it gives me a chance to wear some colors that I might not normally wear.
ReplyDeleteI can't think of anything I don't like about cowls. Small, portable, as intricate as you wish, a chance to learn new techniques and stitches, colorful or neutral, very giftable, all around just enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteDidn't used to like cowls until my daughter requested one. Then I realized how practical they are. They can be bulky or not, you can loop them over twice or not, and they're not going to get lost like a scarf might. Plus I think they're easier to accessorize with what you're wearing, have one in any color or style you want.
ReplyDeleteFun to knit, fun to wear. When I'm chasing the kids, they don't come unwrapped or slide off. There are a billion different sizes and variations, use and skein or two. What's not to like??
ReplyDeleteI made my first cowl this winter and love them! I prefer the long loopy ones that can hang loose or wrap several times. Even though they may take the same amount of yarn as a scarf, to me, they're much more exciting and fun!

I love cowls because they are so cute on any outfit. They dress up my favorite gray t-shirt(s). Super quick to knit. Love that you can buy a nice skein of yarn (usually just 1) and make something warm besides a hat :) I'm JLCherry33 on Ravelry
ReplyDeleteI love cowls because they fill that space just above the collar of my coat. The cold air always seems to find that space when I don't wear a cowl.
ReplyDeleteWhat I love about cowls is that they don't blow away in the wind and stay put just as you arranged them.
ReplyDeletedonaldsg on Rav
I'm always cold so a cowl keeps my neck warm while also being a beautiful accessory. They are also fun, quick and portable to knit.
ReplyDeletefinnknitter on Ravelry
Portable, fun projects that kint up quickly. Fun to make, wear & give as gifts!

I love them because they are quick to make. You can learn lots of new techniques and most can be done in one skein! They are also very versatile in the ways you can wear them!

ReplyDeleteI actually knit my first cowl this year. I have been knitting for years and never knit one. Now I am hooked. I like cowls because they stay put.

What do I love about cowls? They don't fall off, come unwound, or leave you wondering where to stuff the ends! ;-)

I sure would like to win this package of goodies, I love the yarns and gadgets, gadgets are some of my favorite things. My birthday is in May so I think It would be appropriate if I won LOL.
ReplyDeleteI love cowls--they are so cozy and adorable and fun to knit. They make great gifts, too. Thanks for the contest and love the Craftsy classes! I'm kbknits on Ravelry.
ReplyDeleteI live in Canada... Need I say more. They are warm and they stay in place better than a scarf. By the way I love all of your Craftsy classes but this one is my favourite yet. luckystitches on Ravelry
ReplyDeleteI am really excited about the designing cowl class I am taking on craftsy. I usually find something new to try and get obsessed. My daughters and daughter in law will be getting cowls for gifts this year. We live in Minnesota so they will get lots of chances to use them. We are still waiting for spring out here. Would love to get my hands on that gift package!!!
ReplyDeleteCowls are new to me, but oh, so clever! Shorter (or so it seems) than a scarf, a huge plus, and look nicer also. Already signed up for the cowl Craftsy class and like that certain elements are up to us. I am on the last clue of Magnify and can't wait to see how it turns out. Of course, love different yarns as long as they are soft. Would love to win some goodies!
ReplyDeleteI wear cowls every single day and love making and designing new ones :)
ReplyDeletesuch beautiful yarns!!! lovely giveaway :)

What's not to love about cowls? My go-to for "fashion emergencies". Except for i summer I take them everywhere just in case.
ReplyDeleteBeen having a lot of trouble posting here, thank to the Nelkin Chatter folks who told me the iPad isn't working well here. Trying with the MacBook but still this is the third try. Sigh.
What I love about cowls, I had never given them much thought until I saw Laura's cowls and realizing how versatile they are. I had not realized what a great accessory they can be to dress up your outfit and the best part is that they don't take forever to knit. They also make great, quick gifts.
ReplyDeleteWarmth and coziness!!! (If I win, I'd love som of that chili/cerry chocolate, remember?? The best ever, never found it elsewhere)
ReplyDeleteI love cowls because they are quick to knit and they use those single skeins of yarn which we often buy on impulse because they 'speak' to us.
ReplyDeleteI love cowls because....they are quick to knit, you can use just one skin and get your stash down, you can learn ew technics, they are easy to wear, they keep you warn and are elegant at the same time. They are a great present.

DeleteI would sooo love this package. I like the colours chosen. Cowls are a favorite of mine as they are usually quick knits; ideal to learn and improve on a new technique and super cuddly and warm during winter and early spring and early autumn, or just about all year round :)
ReplyDeleteI've been looking at this class since it came out--love your teaching (have all your other Craftsy classes). I'm also starting to design knit items! And who wouldn't love more yarn!!
ReplyDeleteWHAT DO I LOOOOOOVE ABOUT COWLS? Well.... I have a few reasons why.... Number 1 ...I can use it as a LASSO when I want to catch a kiss or a hug from a loved one, it works EVERY TIME! Number 2... I love that it can be used for two when you're at a game and it's cold out! Number 3,4,5,...Last but not least...It makes my heart happy to knit something that has so many uses for my friends and family. They get ecstatic,(men and women) when they receive one of my hand knit cowls:) Keeps me warm as a kitten playin and knittin with yarn! OH did I mention it also makes a great disguise when hiding from an old boyfriend? You can find me at.... marysarnese@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI love knitting Cambio but gave it to a friend so I need more cowl love!! Can't wait to design my own.
ReplyDeleteOooh girl, you know I love a giveaway! And I love cowls, too. I live it when they're just big enough to pull down over my shoulders. Great for travel!!
ReplyDeletelove how versatile a cowl is... long or looped, short and snuggle, over the shoulders or covering my back, I LOVELOVELOVE cowls and knitting them is even better! The most satisfying, quick knit project
ReplyDeleteWow, this giveaway is unbelievable! Such beautiful yarn and colors, my head is spinning with the possibilities!
ReplyDeleteSo let see, what do I like about cowl? The easier question would be what don't I like about them! Nothing!
I wear them all the time and I love designing and knitting them. They are fast and perfect presents, keep you warm and stylish at the same time and the list goes on!
If there was an award for the most perfect item to knit, I would be a tie between cowl and shawls in my opinion! ;-)
Thanks Laura for an other awesome class!
Nekoralie on Ravelry, Craftsy and everywhere else!
one of the reasons I love cowls is you can knit them in the round. No seaming! I am Sandybeach on Ravelry
ReplyDeleteI love cowls because I live in South Georgia. Sometimes a cowl is all I need to stay warm!
ReplyDeleteI like cowls: you start and before you know it you're finished!
ReplyDeleteCowls are the most versatile winter wear..... a scarf that never falls off, that can double for a hat to keep your ears warm when the wind blows.
ReplyDeleteThey are a good instant gratification project and an excellent testing ground for new yarns and techniques. Kitten-Knittin on Ravelry
ReplyDeleteLast fall I suddenly lost my vision just as Magpie KAL arrived. I thought I would never be able to knit again but in the last 6 months vision has improved. I had taken all Laura Nelkins Craftsy classes so she inspired me to try knitting "blind" and a cowl was a good choice.miraculously it turned out beautifly. Cowls are so wonderfly size less, feel so cozy and can be worn in the most amazing ways. Thank you Laura for introducing me to lace work. I am VE7MUM on Ravelry.
ReplyDeleteCowls keep my neck warm, and then my whole body is warm! With any luck, there's no seaming either!

ReplyDeleteHi there, wow what a packed prize!! Personally I love cowls because they stay in place, compared to a shawl. They are also usually a quick knit and a great accessory. Thanks for the opportunity to win that great bundle! You can find me as DeeSadie on Rav :)
ReplyDeleteI love cowls! My favorite thing about them is that I can wrap the warm and fuzziness around my neck and it stays put! I often become frustrated with scarves because they can put too tight around my neck or the ends get caught in things. A cowl is the perfect solution!!
ReplyDeleteRav ID: davenlori98 (Lori)
Warm, fun to knit with hand spun since one can easily adjust cowls to use more or less yarn and I don't lose them the way I lose scarves! SandyNYC on Ravelry
ReplyDeleteCool times offers us cool opportunities to show our cool...cowl with a variety of stitches, colours, and choice of techniques. Cowls can be long or short coverings to prevent the cool from making us cold...but rather ensure we are coowl instead. fivenobles on Rav :>
ReplyDeleteI love how I can pull them up around my ears to keep cold winds out, and feel comfy!
ReplyDeleteI love how versatile cowls are and they stay put once put on. I don't have to constantly rearrange it when it slides off, it's put it on and then forget it!
ReplyDeleteBellyLaugher on Rav
Ooooohhhhh. I love my cowls but only have 1 because my mom and sister have stolen every one that I've knit. I suppose I should be honored but I'm just cold! Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI've only recently started wearing and making cowls. What I love about cowls is that they're a connected piece so you can't have one end accidentally drag and not know it!
ReplyDeleteCowls are so cool yet warm. The possibilities of a cowl is endless and with new yarn to try makes it even more fun. Hopefully I'll get to try to make one with your new yarn.
ReplyDeletesandiphi on Ravelry
Cowls are warmer than scarves and don't fall of when the wind blows... pretty much all the time.
ReplyDeleteYou can even wear a cowl in the kitchen while cooking and no messy fiber ends in your soup :)
