I've been waiting for this day for so long I'm not even quite sure how to do it!
I'm going to start with a check-in with my editor, Caitlin, as it only seems fitting to share the day with her... and then there's an interview with a newspaper (yes, I wrote that.) And then I'm going to do what 1st world parents have done for the last few decades... take my girl back to school shopping! And then yoga, as I might need by then!
I'll be telling the story of writing my book at
events this fall... I'm not letting myself get nervous (more yoga!)... hopefully I'll meet many of you at those!
But first, there are a final few patterns from Knockout Knits to show you. These are some of my favorites which I saved for today!

Laden (with and without beads) from Beaded Beauties |

Close up of Loco! I LOVED knitting this shawl, and can't wait to see more come off your needles! |

After
looking at all the designs in Knockout Knits, leave a comment below telling me which you pattern you want to knit first... that shouldn't be hard, right? (don't forget to leave a way to get in touch with you!)

winner as well as release three new kits, Friday 9/5!
Bootsy is adorable!! :):):) beautiful book!
ReplyDeleteI can't pass up a good cowl, so Crux would be my first!
ReplyDeleteBellyLaugher on Rav
First choice is definitely Halli Shawl for me.
ReplyDeletemartuf on ravelry.com
Love Laden!!!!
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to knit a pair of Cha-Ching Mitts since I saw the cover of your book. Congratulations on your first book!
ReplyDeleteThecatisfelting
We have to chose just one!!! Think I'll start with the Folly Cloche...looks like it would be a fun project!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to knit Las Cruces. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the book, I love everything , but my first will be prolix mitts, love, love, love them!!
ReplyDeleteIt would have to be loco. The combination of pattern and yarn are stunning. Love your jewelry too.
ReplyDeleteCrux cowl. Great Christmas gift!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful collection, Laura! It's hard to pick a first... probably Quadro Shrug or Crux Cowl.
ReplyDeleteJennifer (RavID IronicalKnitter)
The Loco shawl is stunning! Is hard to pick one I would start with but that would probably be it.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations & happy book release day!
I need a new pair of fingerless so the Prolix Mitts would definitely be the first.
ReplyDeleteI would make the Cruz Cowl first. I love the drop stitch look and it would be a fast knit and perfect for gift giving. I'm "ONEDAYDESIGNS" on Ravelry.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say Laden! Because it just screams Nelkin Designs! That pattern is very you. Congratulations on the book Laura.
ReplyDeleteAll of the patterns are gorgeous, but I would start with the Trapeze Scarf--I love knitting with beads and this looks like a piece that would add flair to any outfit!
ReplyDeleteCha-ching mitts for sure. I love knitting accessories and they are just what I need to go with my beautiful alpaca poncho.
ReplyDeletethe Folly Cloche is my favorite
ReplyDeleteFolly Cloche
ReplyDeleteI love them all, but Laden w/o beads does it for me. I am Anita 211 on Ravelry.
ReplyDeleteAs an avid sock knitted (addict!), I'd have to go with the Traversus Socks. : )
ReplyDeletewahoomerryf on Ravelry
Gateway Cuff (because it's small and I like instant gratification. Then definitely Prolix Mitts
ReplyDeleteThe Juego Cowl would be my first. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI've been looking for a cowl, and the Crux Cowl is really nice; I'd do that one first! I'm SandraFos on Ravelry.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I would probably start with the Folly Cloche, although my daughter immediately picked out Laden, so we might have to negotiate!
ReplyDeleteThe Loco shawl is calling my name (the loudest as all are calling)!
ReplyDeleteJust finished my first Undulating Waves, but I had to wait on the next one (presents for my daughters) until I could try the two-sided version. Thank you, Laura!
ReplyDeleteI'm in need of new fingerless mitts, so I'd love to play with the texture on the Prolix Mitts.
ReplyDeleteWow, so many beautiful patterns to choose from. I love all the patterns but would cast on the Cha-Ching Mitts first, they are adorable. Deb x
ReplyDeleteThey're all so beautiful! But I love anything that multi-tasks, so probably the Quadro Shrug :) Congratulations on the book!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Laden with beads! Love!
ReplyDeletekatbetty on Ravelry
Without hesitation a Halli shawl for me! :-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a huge accomplissement, you deserve all the praise that comes your way!
Coralie (aka Nekoralie)
with fall coming on, I would knit Crux Cowl first. alcbrooks on Ravelry
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Laura with this wonderful new book: Knockout Knits.
ReplyDeleteOMG, that is just an "impossible" question, but I'll knit your Halli shawl first definitely and after that your Loco shawl, and after that....., and after that....., and after that....., but this question is almost impossible to answer!! I just need more hands and more time ((-;
How to decide? :) There are so many good ones! But I'm enrolled in your three Craftsy lace classes right now and am currently taking "Knitting with Beads," so Halli first-- just gorgeous. :) --Bookaholic13 on Ravelry
ReplyDeleteSorry, I forgot to mention my name: knit3hearts on Ravelry.....
ReplyDeleteHi Laura! Congratulations on this beautiful book. I can hardly wait to get started on the Prolix Mitts and Loco Shawl. They're Mine!!!!

I want to do Laden first, though I'm tempted to work through the book, from start to finish. :)
ReplyDeleteRav: Rooski
Definitely Loco Shawl... that's beautiful! I'm SerineKat on Ravelry!
ReplyDeleteI have had my eye on the Folly Cloche since it was posted to Ravelry--I've even got the yarn picked out. Can't wait to get my hands on the pattern! I'm mlwilliams918 on Ravelry!
ReplyDeleteI hope the comment "that shouldn't be hard, right?" is ironic!! All of the patterns are beautiful but maybe if I started with the Cha Ching Mitts, I could actually finish them. :) janetlatifa is my Rav name
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on a job well done! I can't wait to make Loco Shawl, my yarn is already caked. YAYB
ReplyDeleteFélicitations! I can't wait for October 7th, the publication date in the UK!!
ReplyDeleteI need to hurry up and finish my Craftsy class so I can be ready for the Loco shawl. The design is exquisite and so unique.

The Crux Cowl is so gorgeous, definitely my favorite.
ReplyDeleteEvery time you released pictures I found a new favorite! Hibiscus necklace, Trapeze scarf, Folly cloche, Gateway cuff are some of those. Of course now I have a new favorite-Loco! Love the color & drape, it reminds me of lovely fall! I can be reached on Ravelry as CheritaMd :-). All of your designs are just so feminine & sophisticated!
ReplyDeleteThe Halli Shawl. Love the circular shape and the way it falls. Ravelry: Patty54a. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI think Laden is my favorite... It's feminine and textured beautifully. I just love it! My rav name is raspberryknits.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely one of the shawls as I'm addicted to them. I think Loco and then Halli.
ReplyDeleteEllsbridge on Ravelry
I've ordered the yarn for Los Cruces already, but then i saw Laden. I need one just like the green one -- perhaps one to knit at home and one for those long conference calls at work.
ReplyDeletePS, you need a nap, or another vacay!
Kathy aka Purplerock on Ravelry
Congratulations on the book release!
ReplyDeleteIf I won, I think I'd start with the Hibisco Necklace as I have no knitted jewelry to speak of. This would soon be followed by Loco, though, as this looks like a very easy-to-wear shawl, but with a really interesting stitch pattern.

Love, love, love the Halli Shawl

ReplyDeletepacnwcrafter on Ravelry
Loco so pretty and airy. Can't wait to try them all what a fun book:)
ReplyDeleteBonjour,
ReplyDeleteThanks for this give-away.
I would knit first the Juego Cowl, because of the slipped stitches, which give a result that seems to be complicated, but I think they are easy to knit ; well, it is a knockout.
saintchristophe on Ravelry.
Oh my gosh! So difficult to decide! I thought for sure it would be Crux Cowl...and then I ran into the Quadro shrug.....so incredibly delicate! But, I think I would go ahead and start with Crux Cowl because it would be faster and we are heading into Fall.
ReplyDeletePS ....from Dianne (posted at 6:46pm, 9/2/14.... My Rav name is dmallen
