A New Knitting Kit: The Pioneer Cuff!
Pioneer Cuff was originally released as a learning tool in my Craftsy class Knitting with Beads, and copyright reverted back to me this spring. I always knew I'd release Pioneer Cuff as a kit as it is the perfect pattern for learning basic lace skills, working with pre-strung beads that are slipped in between stitches, AND placing beads on stitches with super floss (or a crochet hook.) The lace pattern is both charted and written out and the pattern includes links to video tutorials for working with the beads!
I'm off to TNNA next week... for those of you who don't know TNNA is the yarn industry's trade show, and a blast to attend! At TNNA I'll be showing my knit jewelry kit and pattern line to stores from around the world, fondling new yarns, and seeing old and new friends.
But, not every yarn store attends TNNA and I'd LOVE to have my kits in more stores as that's the best way to introduce knitters to working with beads! CAN YOU HELP ME? Do you have an LYS (local yarn store) you visit? Can you tell them about my kits and suggest they try some out, maybe even for a class?
So, let's have a giveaway.... I'm giving away a COMPLETE SET of Pioneer Cuff Kits... that means one of each color (5 total)! All you have to do is leave a comment letting me know that you've shared the news of my kits with your local yarn store! (If you are a yarn store owner, you can leave a comment for a chance to win as well!)
You can tell LYS's about my kits a variety of ways:
I chose Anzula Cloud, one of my favorite light fingering yarns, for the kit. Cloud is a cashmere, merino blend that is strong and scrumptious! The kit is available in 5 colors to start! |

ReplyDeleteI shared with a local group "TangledThreadsCSRA" on FB which includes members very active knitters in the community! I honestly don't have the pleasure of going to any LYS since there doesn't seem to be any near me! ;(
ReplyDeleteFunny thing, I was able to find an actual LYS that just wasn't well known. They invited me out of the blue to their Ravelry group. Their FB page is Sassy Knitter LLC. So in the end, I did get to pass these kits along in my area!
DeleteI have to go to my LYS later this week. I will definitely talk to them about your kits. I love your patterns and Pioneer Cuff was my first real beaded project. I'm planning on making several for Christmas gifts for my family this year.

ReplyDeleteI love your kits! I bought two more Mudra Cuff kits at my LYS recently because I couldn't decide which color I like better. Your yarn/bead combinations are wonderful. I just forwarded your email about the new kits to my LYS, Lovin Knit in Marietta, Ga., where I took your Skywalker with beads class last fall. I'd like to try the Pioneer Cuff, in Violet. :-)
ReplyDeleteI've messaged the Needle Emporium in Ancaster (My LYS) about your cuff kits on their Facebook :)

ReplyDeleteYay...I am super excited. I stopped into my LYS, Abuelita's, and gave the owner a copy of this blog posting. I told her that when I read this entry, I immediately thought it would be a great fit for her shop. She looked at the picture and was SUPER excited--apparently she had seen a couple of customers at a recent yarn crawl wearing some knitted beaded jewelry that she was really impressed with, and she thinks it might have been some of your patterns! She thanked me for keeping my eyes out for good stuff for the shop! I feel like a matchmaker! Melise
ReplyDeleteOkeedoke. I sent the link to this blog announcement of the new kit to my Ravel Rouser local knitter group, and then I told the other group I attend. I was in a local yarn store (Elmwood Yarn Shop in Bflo) and told them I needed them to order your kits. I had printed out your page of kits and said, "Here you go. Get em." Then I was ordering on Noble Knits and left a message saying, "Get the Nelkin Kits soon. New ones always coming out!!!" phew. back to bed. I have bronchitis.
ReplyDeleteJust contacted by LYS Green Planet Yarns in San Jose, CA. They are going to carry the kits.
ReplyDeletePosted on my LYS's wall, Beehive Knits in Victoria. I <3 their shop!
ReplyDeleteShared with Mass Ave Knits in Indianapolis on Friday. They are very interested!

Green Planet Yarns (my LYS) has ordered the kits!!!
ReplyDelete1 of our local stores, Yarn &Thread Expressions in San Diego, has carried these in the past and now I hope that they get the new colors in. Will check tomorrow since they are closed today. These look great and I will also check with other stores. Weirdly, most yarn stores are closed on Mondays here.
ReplyDeleteI'm blessed to have a few LYS in my area! I'm gladly sharing the info with the two I frequent most often!
ReplyDeleteShared with owner of Crazy for Ewe in Leonardtown Md. Great kit. Hope we can get some and sell in shop. Thanks Mary H
ReplyDeleteNo LYS here in Costa Rica but I am headed back stateside next week so I checked in with the Stitchin Post in Manchester, IA which is what I consider my LYS. Hopefully they will be getting your kits soon!

ReplyDeleteMy LYS already carries your other knitted jewelry sets, so I asked her this weekend to pick up the Pioneer kits. I can't wait until they come in.

ReplyDeleteHi Laura! We spoke via email last year. I was teaching at Needle in a Haystack in Montrose, CA. Your kits sold very well last year at that shop because I made samples and offered Knit/Crochet Beaded Jewelry Workshops. They were my most popular classes all year!
ReplyDeleteThis year, I'm the new Knit/Crochet Instructor at Itza Knitterie in Glendale, CA (www.itzaknitterie.com), so I've been teaching my Knit/Crochet Beaded Jewelry Workshops there. We don't have any samples of your kits there.
If I win some kits, we'll make samples to display at Itza Knitterie and the shop will order some to sell at our upcoming "Christmas in July" Event.
Best of luck with your new kits, patterns, and Craftsy classes!
My LYS -Knit On! in Newport, KY -already carries your kits. I've made the Mudra necklace twice. Love 'em! I let them know about the new Pioneer cuffs. I'm sure they'll be a hit!
