Here's my first video tutorial: Circular Cast On
Grab some scrap yarn and a set of double pointed needles and give it a whirl...
Shooting video is a fun new challenge for me and I look forward to doing more of it in 2011! I can't wait to hear what you think...
Awesome! I love learning new techniques with videos. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteNice! This is just like the adjustable ring for crochet. I never thought about applying it to my knitting!
ReplyDeleteGreat, passing this on to my aunt who just got taught last month to knit my 11 yr old. Love your work. ~annafogg1
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!!!! So glad you are all enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteAwesome. I am a Magic Loop as opposed to DPN knitter but I may be converted especially for the cast on. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteNicely done! Easy to understand, well-photographed. Thanks for a very clear and easy start to a beautiful hat.
ReplyDeleteGreat and clear video technique. Would a slip knot have the same effect as the overhand knot?
ReplyDeleteThanks! It doesn't work with a slip knot because the thread that "slips" is not the tail. With this technique you use the working yarn to create the sts, and pull up the tail to tighten the circle! (I had to pull out some needles and try it!)
ReplyDeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeleteI was about to crochet a circular cast on, and knit along from there, but now I don't have to go find my crochet hook. Huge time-saver as I haven't a clue where the darned thing is...
Thanks!
I love your videos, they are so clear and always work!!!!!.
ReplyDeleteLove! looks so simple, and makes continental seem like a breeze as well. Thanks for sharing. I am going to cast on Quest Cloche now.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautifully clear video of an incredibly useful technique. I look forward to more videos from you.
ReplyDeleteThat is GENIUS. I can't wait to knit a Quest hat now!!!
ReplyDeleteThis video is excellent! So sorry I didn't see this a few months ago. Have bookmarked it for the future.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! Thank you so much for sharing with us, Laura!
