I'm working on a new design for an exciting new project, and I could really use your help! I can't decide which bead combination I like best! The design needs
both the small (size 8) beads, and the large (size 6) beads. As in the swatch above, the small beads will be on yarnovers, and the large beads will be placed on stitches. (If you are wondering, the swatch above is the stitch used in
Kinetik and the yarn is
Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport in Midway)

I really think the small sparkly grey beads and the larger beads along the edge make a great combination! Those would be my choices to pair with that beautiful yarn :).

The lavender-lined large beads are my favorite. They don't seem to stand out...in fact, I almost missed them running up the side, but I think out of the four choices, they are my favorite.

I like the silver lined small beads. They don't compete as much with the yarn and let the design stand out a bit more, but still have that lovely beaded sparkle. But... I'm kind of at a draw with the larger beads. I like the taupe beads myself, but the gleam of the lavender beads stands out more. I think it is a better pairing with the small silver-lined beads, and gives that little extra flash. Either way I can't wait to see the finished project!

I went with option 3. I think you need something that stands out on the stitches, and something a bit more subtle on the yarnovers.
I love the yarn you used in the swatch, the colour is beautiful!
I love the way the lavender lined large beads pop, and the grey small beads go with them so well.
I definitely prefer the lavender large beads. The taupe ones blend in too much. I voted for the sparkly gray smalls but the silver lined nice too.
Can hardly wait to see what the finished product reveals! I need to thank you for giving me some "knitivation," which I had been sadly lacking until I started the online lace shawl class.

The sparkly gray beads with the lavender beads compliment the yarn color. The other colors of beads are more subdued and don't really "pop". I prefer pop!!
Love the lavender lined beads with the silver lined. It's so much easier to see the beautiful lines of the dropped stitches with the silver lined small beads :)
I will confess to loving what the majority likes, the sparkly grey with lavender beads. Makes the swatch 'pop' y'know!

The sparkly grey and lavender lines beads enhance the colors in the yarn so well and make a beautiful piece. Since I am fairly new to knitting and enjoying my first KAL with Kinetik, I'm not familiar with Ysolda. Would love to learn more about new knitters. Anxious to see your finished product.

They are all quite lovely, but I felt the Lavender lined beads blended in with the yarn and got lost. I liked the silver lined ones better. They seem to pop more.

I'm going through a purple phase right now, so I voted sparkley grey and lavender. (last week I found myself referring to a certain rich royal purple as 'juicy' and then explaining my choice of adjective for five minutes to a group of wide eyed teenagers). Also, I adore Ysolda. :D

All the choices and that yarn are very pretty, I can see why you couldn't decide. I couldn't decided between Sparkly Grey and Lavender or Sparkly Grey and Taupe. I went for Taupe but apparently I'm in the minority.

It kind of depends on what the project is... the sparkly grey small beads look like a continuation of the yarn; the silver lined small beads have a little bit of contrast.
I could see either of them being good, but "best" really depends on the project as a whole!
(although I think the lavender lined large beads look a little better than the taupe lined large beads regardless)

I cast my vote! Looks like most people have agreed with me. I just think the sparkly gray and the lavender lined beads coordinate with the yarn better. They're sparkly enough to stand out but coordinate well so they are part of the piece.

Just wanted to say I chose the silver lined small beads because I think they give a lighter feel to the design and do not draw away from the other elements. I chose the Lavender Lined Large Beads for the opposite reason, their color seems a little stronger and I think the Taupe Lined Large Beads kind of get lost in the yarn color.

I love all of the beads. Any combination would work imo, but I ended up choosing the silver with the lavender.
I love beads and I think choice one makes the beads a part of the cloth without covering up the design.
