Video Tutorial: Soutache

Here is a video to help you learn how to work beaded i-cord like I used in Soutache.  I've got another simple design in the works for the stitch and I promise to share it with you when it's ready!

  1. You must be reading my mind. I fell in love with the Soutache when I saw it Friday at knitting group in the magazine we were passing about. Now you are going to help me figure it out. I love it. You are the best.

  3. Dear Laura,

Thanks for this video. I've been wondering how to knit with beads for awhile and this makes it easy. I've ordered your Butin Collar Kit to try, it is so pretty. My question is regarding binding off the beaded I-cord. Do you just knit all three stitches together? All the internet searches show me how to bind off using i-cord instead of ending an i-cord.

    Thanks,

    1. Hi!

Thanks to you! You can either k3tog OR work a regular bind off. The k3tog will give you a pointier tip, and the bind off a flatter one. I think it's a matter of personal preference!

  4. Hi Laura,
Can I use the same type of clasp as I did on the Pioneer cuff from class?

  6. Thanks so much for this tutorial! Even after the Craftsy course (which I love and encourage all to take), I wasn't really sure where the bead was meant to rest, from the Creative Knits pattern.

  7. I can't see your videos at all. It says, "Here is a video to...." and the rest of the blog part for the video is blank. Any ideas why I can't see it? Thank you....Jeannie
